When it's time to save a life, will you be ready?

About Me

I'm Joanna MacLean.

I'm the founder and Head Trainer, and I'm passionate about safety. I started Cactus Safety to bring high-quality CPR, AED, first aid, choking, and babysitting training into my community.

I'll be honest; I've watched someone die and it is the most helpless feeling in the world. I can't even imagine what it must be like to see someone urgently in need of assistance and not be able to provide it. I don't ever want to be in that position. So I learned CPR, then I learned how to teach it.

I am based in Arizona, but I have access to a network of instructors across the country. I would be proud to bring quality training to wherever you are.

You can't predict when an emergency will strike. When seconds count, the training you have matters. Emergency services take time to arrive, even in the best circumstances. But life-saving care must begin at the onset of an emergency. There is simply no time to waste. You can be the person at the scene paralyzed with fear, wishing you had taken a CPR class, or you can be the confident, qualified responder who knows what to do.

Cactus Safety is an Arizona-based, woman-owned company dedicated to providing quality emergency training and safety consulting.

Will you be
ready to act?

What if it's you or someone you love?

In 2020, the average EMS response time was eight minutes to the scene, 11 minutes at the scene, and another 11 minutes of transport time*. That's a total of 30 minutes from the time 9-1-1 is called until a patient arrives at the hospital. The first few minutes of an emergency are often the most critical. If it's you or your loved one, that time can feel like an eternity. Having a knowledgeable, trained individual in the vicinity of an emergency means help arrives when it matters most. And the more people who are available, the better. When multiple responders are available, they can trade off performing CPR, gather valuable information from bystanders, and direct EMS personnel to the right location. Everyone has a role.
