Got Questions?

These are the questions we get asked the most. If you don't see what you're looking for here, please use the Contact Us form.

Do you provide onsite training?

Yes. We can bring all training equipment and materials to your location.

Who can participate?

Practically anyone! If you are a parent, caregiver, friend, neighbor, co-worker, coach, teacher, volunteer, pastor, or referee, you should know CPR. Anyone age 13 and older may join a class. Babysitting courses are open to those age 11 and older.

I see other courses that are shorter and/or cheaper. What's the difference?

The difference is that training from Cactus Safety is fully compliant with American Red Cross training standards using the most current science. You are also given multiple opportunities to become proficient with the skills.  Shorter classes do not give you enough time to practice and may not offer a certification.

Why should I take a class? I can learn CPR online.

While there are videos and other material available on the internet, there are several reasons why you should take a class. While you may learn the basics from other sources, you won't be able to practice or receive feedback on your technique from a video. You may also not receive the protection offered by "Good Samaritan" laws if you perform CPR on someone and you haven't received certification from a recognized organization.

How many people are in each class?

The American Red Cross limits class to 12 participants for each instructor, and a class needs a minimum of three people to be effective. Larger classes can be accommodated with a second instructor.

Will I be certified?

Yes, as long as you can demonstrate proficiency of the skills. Upon completion, you will receive a digital certificate from the Red Cross which is valid for two years from the date of your class.

What if I don't know what I need for my organization?

Safety consulting is available in addition to training. Many small businesses are unaware of OSHA safety regulations that may apply to them or how to comply. Contact me to see if consulting is right for your business.
